Vaccination for people between 50 and 59 years of age will begin in the first week of May and pre-registration will open this Wednesday, informed Ruy López Ridaura, general director of the National Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control (Cenaprece).
The immunization target is 9,128,769 people, according to data from last year's population census, the official explained at the presidential "morning" conference.
López Ridaura indicated that on the corresponding website, adults should enter their CURP, place of birth, zip code, phone number and email address.
The website address is https://mivacuna.salud.gob.mx.
Pre-registration will not determine the order of vaccination, he assured, but it will help authorities with organization.
"We will be using the strategy proven in older adults with the Correcaminos brigade and a proportional distribution to all federal entities, prioritizing municipalities based on supply and mortality rates," said López Ridaura.
In his speech, Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, reported that the country has seen 14 consecutive weeks of declining pandemic incidence data.
Similarly, it was reported that so far, around 11,103,000 older adults have been vaccinated with at least the first dose, thus meeting the target set for this sector to be immunized before the end of April.
