Direct Steam (Boiler Steam) and/or Electric (Self-Generated Steam) Sterilizer

Description:

The Direct Steam (Boiler Steam) and/or Electric (Self-Generated Steam) Sterilizer is a fixed cabinet-type or wall-mounted unit that uses steam (moist heat) under pressure at high temperatures as a sterilizing agent. It is ideal for objects that can withstand high temperatures and steam humidity under pressure, such as textiles, surgical instruments, liquids, and utensils. It is also effective for the destruction of microorganisms, including spores.

Design and Construction:

• The inner chamber, outer chamber, pressure generator, and door are designed and manufactured according to ASME code, for boilers and pressure vessels, Section VIII, Division 1, for a pressure of 3.5 Kg/cm2 (50 Psi).

Chamber Construction:

• The inner (rectangular) horizontal sterilizing chamber, rear bottom, and surrounding frame are constructed from stainless steel plate: type 304, 304-L, 316, or 316-L (as required) in 6.3 mm (1/4”) thickness.
• The chamber has 1 to 4 ports for validation tests (as required), hot rolled and welded using the inert gas (TIG) procedure.
• For 1 or 2 doors, with a sloped drain for condensed steam outlet and a hermetic sealing system.
• The outer chamber (jacket or steam chassis) is manufactured from stainless steel plate in the required quality, either 304, 304-L, 316, or 316-L; in 4 mm and/or 6.3 mm (1/4”) thickness.
• Frame and front panel in Stainless Steel type 304, 316-L.
• It is supplied with thermal insulation of Fiberglass of 1.25 Lbs. density and 25.4 mm to 50.8 mm thickness, and an aluminum sheet cover.
• With one or two validation ports.

Manual Radial Opening Doors with Safety System:

• Made with 12.7 mm (1/2”) thick Stainless Steel plate and in the required quality, 304, 304-L, 316, or 316-L.
• OPTIONAL: stainless steel cover.
• Closure by means of radial Stainless Steel bars operated by a handwheel.
• The door contains a silicone gasket that provides a hermetic seal and long durability.
• It has an integrated safety system that prevents the door from opening during sterilization and deactivates when pressure is released.
• Left or right opening with left or right hinge.

Own Steam Generator (Integrated Steam) Electric, Motor Pump, and Hydro-Sphere (Optional):

• The generator (water tank) is integrated into the chamber body and is made of 11 Ga. sheet metal, 3.1 mm (1/8”) thick.
• Flange and cover (1/2” thick plate) are made of Stainless Steel and supplied in the required quality: 304, 304-L, 316, or 316-L.
• Generator diameter: 25 cm (10”).
• It has an automatic pressure regulator (thermostat) for automatic protection and automatic water filling to the steam generator even if there is pressure and automatic water shortage control.

Optional:

• It can be supplied with a water softener filter integrated into the equipment and a reverse osmosis system.
• 3 heating elements in copper or Stainless Steel of 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000 Watts each, mounted on a Stainless Steel plate.
• Automatic pressure control (pressure switch) and safety device that prevents overpressure (safety valve).
• Drain valve for easy cleaning and descaling of heating elements and tank.
• The heating elements have a changing system by means of threaded bronze couplings (bushings) to facilitate their replacement.
