LED technology in the operating room:

LEDs are very efficient light sources for surgical applications. Dräger has now combined the advantages of this innovative light source with a new, extremely compact and lightweight, yet robust design, including individual lens reflectors to provide optimal light output and more effective shadow control. Even the little heat produced by the LEDs is regulated and dissipated by an integrated thermal management system. The maximum temperature of the lamp head (upper surface) will not exceed 35 °C*. With an average lifespan of 30,000 hours, this LED technology is as reliable as it is affordable.* At an ambient temperature of 20 °C

Polaris 200:

Without changing external dimensions or design, the Polaris 200 lamp provides 18 additional LEDs, for a total of 66. This translates into a maximum intensity of 160,000 lux. The light intensity can be easily reduced to 40,000 lux. The color temperature and color rendering index are identical to those of Polaris 100. Each LED is equipped with its own lens reflector system. The homogeneous light column of both lamps offers the surgeon a view of the surgical field in natural color, with defined contours and shadow control.

Compact design, simple operation:

The classic round design includes integrated handles for handling by non-sterile personnel and touch panel controls that facilitate the use and operation of the unit. Sterile personnel can easily position the Polaris 100/200 lamp with the sterilizable central handle. Each of the four clearly designated control buttons performs a single function; in addition, an optional wall-mounted control panel is available. The smooth, sleek housing facilitates quick and easy cleaning, while its lightweight construction allows the lamp to be positioned with virtually no effort.

Easy installation and maintenance:

The simple design philosophy of Polaris 100/200 lamps makes installation and maintenance very easy. The lamp heads are controlled thanks to the electrical cable communication system (PLC), whose effectiveness has been widely demonstrated.

High-performance lamp:

Thanks to its illumination capacity of up to 160,000 lux and cardanic arcs, which make it possible to position the lamp with total precision, the mobile version has thousands of applications.

Adjustable height for comfortable work:

Height adjustment by pneumatic springs makes it possible to effortlessly adapt the lamp to its transport or operating position. When fully extended, the workspace below the lamp is 2175 mm: ideal even for the tallest surgeons. The transport height of Polaris 100/200 Mobile is only 1850 mm.

Backup battery:

In the event of a power outage, the lamp will continue to operate for at least three hours thanks to its integrated battery. As soon as the battery reaches 25% (enough for approximately 45 minutes of operation), an automatic acoustic warning signal is activated. In addition, LED indicators on the transport trolley show the status of the power supply and battery charge.

Natural colors:

With a color rendering index Ra of 95 and a color rendering index R9 of 93, the Polaris system offers natural, high-contrast illumination without affecting red tones. The Polaris 100/200 lighting system can be equipped with LED lights in warm white, neutral white, or cool white (4,400 K, 5,000 K, or 5,600 K).

Mobile applications:

You can use the mobile Polaris lamp as an additional lamp for the operating room, for example, in cardiovascular interventions where the patient needs to be operated on in more than one area at a time. Of course, the mobile lamp provides the same quality in emergency rooms and treatment rooms. The mobile Polaris 100/200 is especially useful when a fixed ceiling installation is not possible due to infrastructure. The transport trolley has a compact closed cover, which significantly simplifies cleaning tasks. The double wheels at the back have a braking system.
