Wideband Tympanometry, or WBT, from Interacoustics, explores middle ear diagnostics from a completely new perspective. With a simple probe click covering the range between 226 and 8,000 Hz instead of a probe tone that only measures at 226 Hz, hundreds of tympanograms are visualized in an illustrative 3D environment. With a single pressure sweep (as in traditional tympanometry), wideband tympanometry allows for a complete analysis of the middle ear's condition across a frequency range that includes the entire speech spectrum.

• Specific components of the recording can be displayed individually for easier interpretation, such as the classic 226 Hz tympanogram, the 1 kHz tympanogram, a wideband tympanogram indicating the average, the resonant frequency tympanogram, and absorbance measurements as a function of frequency.
