The Lab Scroll system is a skid-mounted design consisting of multiple oil-less scroll compressors, dual air dryers with purge control, a dual filtration system, dew point monitors, a wired control panel, and a corrosion-resistant air receiver. The Lab Scroll system shall be modular in design and minimize the overall footprint. It shall be provided with single-point connections for intake air (remote), electrical, discharge air, and condensate drains. All scroll pumps are ISO 8573-1 Class Zero rated and the dryers produce a -40°F dew point.

Specifications

• Oil-less Scroll Compressor Pump: Compressors shall be single stage, oil-less, air-cooled, rotary scroll belt driven, oil-less construction with absolutely no oil required for operation. The rotary design will not require intake or exhaust valves and shall be rated for 100% continuous duty. No direct drive compressors shall be used. Tip seals shall be of a composite PTFE material and rated for 5,000 hours of operation. Compressor bearings shall be external to the air compression chamber and all shall be able to be serviced over the extended life of the compressor. Bearing maintenance shall not be required until 5,000 hours of operation. Compressors with bearings that are not accessible for service are limited in their life and should not be accepted. Compressors shall have an integral radial flow fan for cooling and shall not require any additional electric cooling fans. Each compressor shall be equipped with the following components:

1. Isolation, Check, and Safety Valve (1 for each base mount unit).
2. ODP Electric Motor, Belts and Belt Guard (1 for each base mount unit).
3. Air-cooled aftercooler with separator using a patent-pending turbo cooling method producing approach temperatures less than 16°F (1 for each base mount unit).
4. T.M.P.D. (Thermal Malfunction Protection Device) (1 per each base mount unit).
5. Pumps are capable of all major maintenance by only removing the fixed scroll side.

• Receiver Tank: ASME National Board registered 200 PSIG working pressure vertical air receiver is provided with:

1. Pressure gauge.
2. Relief valve.
3. Sight gauge.
4. Manual and automatic electric timed tank drain.
5. 3-valve bypass piping.
6. External paint and internal coating to resist corrosion.

• Premium Control Panel: The control system provides automatic lead/lag activation based on demand and automatic alternation of all pumps to equalize the amount of run time among available pumps. The control panel will include:

1. A color touch-screen display panel which shows the operating status of the unit. The touch-screen will display pump status, pump faults, pump run hours, system pressure, system alarms, and service alert notifications for the pumps, dryers, and dew point monitor.
2. Building automation communication via BACnet® over IP protocol.
3. Ethernet port for connection to BACnet® server or direct connection to facility Ethernet for viewing system operations and status via the device’s IP address.
4. A PLC controller which includes programmed logic to properly manage start-stop, lead lag, and other pump operations.
5. UL508A listed control panel in a NEMA 12 enclosure.

• Air Purification System:

1. Twin tower heatless pressure swing automatic desiccant air dryers.
2. Designed to produce a -40°F dew point.
3. Dual cyclonic water separators.
4. Dual .01 micron coalescing pre-filter with element change indicator and automatic condensate drain.
5. Dual 1 micron particulate after-filter with element change indicator
6. Dual pressure reducing valves.
7. Automatic dew point dependent switching to reduce purge frequency and save energy.
8. Purge muffler for quiet operation.

• Monitoring Equipment: Dew point monitor with audible/visual alarms and dry contacts for remote alarm signal.
• System Connections: The system is supplied with a remote air intake and flexible connectors for discharge. Isolation pads included.
• Easy to Maintain Motor-Pump Base Mounts: A proprietary base mount service slide provides safe and easy access to common maintenance items. Also includes an adjustable slide base under each motor to facilitate belt replacement and tensioning.
