• This original model of a female pelvis provides detailed information about the topography of bones, ligaments, vessels, nerves, pelvic floor muscles, and female pelvic organs.
• The entire pelvic floor is represented with a section of the external anal sphincter with partially removable sagittal mid-section, external urethral sphincter, and the deep and superficial transverse perineal and bulbospongiosus muscles.
• The rectum, uterus with fallopian tubes, ovaries, and vagina are also detachable and can be disassembled into two halves along their sagittal mid-section.
• The right pelvic half shows the divisions and topographical anatomy of the common iliac artery, external and internal arteries, and also the common iliac vein and external iliac vein.
• It also shows the right sacral plexus, right sciatic nerve, and pudendal nerve.
• Bones and ligaments shown: two hip bones, the pubic symphysis, sacrum and coccyx, the fifth lumbar vertebra with the intervertebral disc.
• A sagittal mid-section through the fifth lumbar vertebra, sacrum, and coccyx allows the two halves of the pelvis to be disassembled, showing part of the cauda equina in the vertebral canal.
• The left half of the fifth lumbar vertebra is removable.
• The right half of the model shows the following pelvic ligaments: inguinal ligament, sacrotuberous ligament, sacrospinous ligament, anterior sacroiliac ligaments, iliolumbar ligament, anterior longitudinal ligament, interosseous sacroiliac ligament, posterior sacroiliac ligament, and obturator membrane.
